TOOLS FOR GUIDING

The round table

A tool for supporting event management in electronic arenas, the Round Table is a system for the deployment of virtual cameras in a potentially large-scale environment with many participants. The activity of the participants guides the placing, direction and control of the views made available for broadcast or other forms of distribution.

A round table with a projection screen in the centre is used to display a map of the electronic arena. The image on the screen is rear-projected from beneath. Physical objects are placed on the tabletop and tracked with a vision-based analysis system to deploy and select cameras, to zoom the display and to control other operations.
