TOOLS
FOR GUIDING
Camera
control
For inhabited
television broadcasts, eRENA prototyped a specialised
real-time camera control interface to allow coherent
transmissions to be created with virtual cameras. This
interface enables an operator to direct cameras in a
multitude of ways including allowing a specific target
to be kept in shot, pre-setting positions, and using
in the style of flying vehicles. Compound manipulations
of the camera can be specified and camera adjustments
can be pre-programmed and stored for later recall. As
used in Out of this World and Avatar Farm, the camera
control interface ensured a fluid and complex shooting
style which could be rehearsed, re-worked and rolled
out with great flexibility.
