TOOLS FOR BUILDING

ViCrowd: Simulating virtual crowds

A complementary tool to those used in the creation of crowds of virtual humans, ViCrowd permits the simulation of the movement and behaviour of virtual crowds. Based on detailed study of real crowds, this model also permits different levels of behaviour control, so that the crowd can be guided in real time, or be programmed to carry out certain kinds of activity, or be granted autonomy. ViCrowd has been successfully demonstrated simulating crowds in the train station, the park and the theatre of a virtual city.
